How we collect, use and protect information from parents and children — and the choices you always have.

American Prime Academy (“American Prime Academy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) offers live online classes in coding, AI, game design, digital art, robotics and math for children aged 7–14. We take the trust families place in us seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we keep it safe.

The short version: our services are bought and managed by parents and guardians. We only collect the minimum information about children needed to teach them, we do so with a parent’s consent, we never sell personal information and we never show advertising to children.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to our website, our live online classes, our learning platform and family dashboard, and any emails, text messages or calls with our team (together, the “Services”). It covers information about parents and legal guardians (“parents”) and about the children enrolled in our programs.

2. Children’s privacy and parental consent

Our Services are directed to parents, and children take part in classes under their parent’s account and supervision. We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.

  • Parental consent first. We collect personal information from or about a child under 13 only after a parent has given verifiable consent — for example when a parent registers, requests a call back or completes enrollment and agrees to this policy.
  • Only what we need. For children we collect a first name, age or grade, the program and level, class attendance, the projects they create and teacher notes about progress. We do not ask children for their home address, phone number, email address or photos outside of class.
  • No public profiles or chat. Children cannot create public profiles, and our classrooms have public chat disabled. Children are reminded never to share personal details in class.
  • No advertising to children. We do not use children’s information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
  • Parents stay in control. A parent can review the information we hold about their child, ask us to correct or delete it, and refuse further collection or use at any time by emailing hello@americanprimeacademy.com. If you withdraw consent we may no longer be able to provide classes to your child.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, please contact us.

3. Information we collect

Information parents give us

  • Contact details such as name, email address and phone number.
  • Your child’s first name, age, interests and any learning notes you choose to share.
  • Booking and enrollment details such as program, level, preferred schedule and time zone.
  • Billing information. Card payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Messages you send us and feedback or reviews you choose to provide.

Information created during classes

  • Attendance, progress reports, projects, certificates and Demo Day presentations.
  • Class recordings (see section 5).

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information such as browser type, pages visited and approximate location derived from IP address, collected through cookies and similar technologies on our website. See our Cookie Policy.

4. How we use information

  • To return call-back requests, place children in the right program and level and deliver live classes.
  • To share progress reports, recordings, certificates and important updates with parents.
  • To process payments, provide customer support and respond to questions.
  • To keep classrooms safe, maintain teaching quality and prevent misuse of our Services.
  • To send parents news and offers about our programs. You can opt out at any time; reply STOP to any text message to stop SMS.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

5. Class recordings

We record live classes so families can re-watch lessons, so students who miss a class can catch up, and so we can review safety and teaching quality. Recordings are available only to the enrolled family and to authorized staff. We never publish recordings or images of children publicly without a parent’s separate, written permission.

6. How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who help us run the Services — for example video-classroom, hosting, email, SMS and payment providers — under contracts that require them to protect the information and use it only on our instructions.
  • With your child’s teachers, who see only what they need to teach and support your child.
  • For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety of children, our community or the public.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information.

7. How long we keep information

We keep parent and child information for as long as your family has an account with us and for a reasonable period afterwards to provide certificates, answer questions and meet legal obligations. Class recordings are kept for up to 12 months after a program ends unless you ask us to delete them sooner. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls limited to staff who need it, background-checked teachers and private classrooms. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your account login details private.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access, correct or delete your family’s information.
  • Withdraw consent for the collection or use of your child’s information.
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, or reply STOP to text messages.
  • Depending on where you live (for example California and other U.S. states), you may have additional rights, such as to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email hello@americanprimeacademy.com. We may need to verify that you are the parent or account holder before acting on a request.

10. Families outside the United States

We are based in the United States and the Services are operated there. If you enroll from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services change. If we make material changes — especially to how we handle children’s information — we will notify parents by email and, where required, ask for renewed consent before the change applies.

12. Contact us
